St Quintin's Cafe & Takeaway in Carnaby, Driffield, offers a straightforward, no-frills spot for a hearty breakfast or a quick lunch. This is very much a local haunt where families, workers, and passersby stop in for a solid breakfast or a hot sandwich without fuss. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming — a place where the regulars chat over coffee while workers from nearby spots grab a takeaway sandwich or a full English to fuel their day.

The menu leans into classic British breakfast staples, with options like bacon and sausage sandwiches, eggs with black pudding, and toasted teacakes. There's something simple and reassuring about dropping in here for a plate of beans on toast or a panini with cheese and ham. Portions are generous, making it a practical choice for families on a budget or anyone wanting a filling, home-style meal. Prices are very reasonable, which matches the unpretentious vibe of the place.

Service is friendly and attentive, often accommodating the odd special request, like welcoming dogs on quieter days. The staff appear to know many customers by name, adding to the sense of community that marks this cafe more as a local gathering point than a tourist stop.

Visitors looking to avoid crowds might want to steer clear of late mornings on Thursdays and Fridays when it gets notably busy, likely due to nearby workers and council traffic. Parking is ample and even convenient for larger vehicles, a practical bonus for drivers in the area.

Overall, St Quintin's suits those who appreciate a straightforward breakfast or lunch spot with a solid, familiar menu and a friendly, down-to-earth atmosphere. If you’re looking for a place where locals mix and the focus is on good food at fair prices rather than style or trendiness, this is the kind of cafe that fits into everyday life here in Carnaby.

Nice little cafe, food was tasty and service was good. The locals were friendly and we fed 4 adults and a child for £15. Cannot ask for more, would recommend.

Thank you for a lovely breakfast. We’re moving to the area so will be happy to visit again. The food was lovely… a good sausage on a breakfast is always a must. I did ask if dogs were allowed and was advised “no” but an exception was made because the cafe was empty, which I thought was really accommodating. To top it off, the dog got a sausage without asking and by the looks of it, I got extra beans when I didn’t want tomato, again without asking. It’s that kind of service which makes me want to leave a positive review and is recognised! Thank you

Popped in while was in area waiting for my truck to be ready at east riding council. Had a full English with extra black pudding was lovely top marks to the chef, will be back and will be telling work drivers to pop in. Gets busy on a Thursday and Fri as expected so might have to wait awhile. Plenty of places to park a truck.
